Michael Kalb, Co-Founder and Managing Partner (Michael@Navaidequity.com)

Michael has more than 25 years of corporate finance and investing experience and has led or co-led more than 60 transactions with an aggregate value of more than $6 billion. For the past 18 years, Michael has largely focused on sourcing and closing value-oriented, turnarounds and special situation transactions, and then overseeing operational and profit enhancing improvements.

Prior to co-founding Navaid, Michael was a Senior Managing Director and a member of the Global Investment Committee at Sun Capital Partners, a $13 billion private equity firm. During Michael’s tenure at Sun Capital his responsibilities included sourcing and investing in US Domestic and International companies, as well as portfolio oversight. He also led development of the firm’s New York based office from 2002 – 2004.

Michael ran Sun’s European business, Sun European Partners LLC, for 10 years, during which he was responsible for sourcing, market strategy development, portfolio oversight, fundraising activities, regulatory and compliance, and leading transactions while managing the Europe-based team. 

Michael began his career in finance at Lazard Middle Market (formerly known as Goldsmith Agio, Helms & Co). He received a Bachelor of Business Administration from Hofstra University.

Scott W. Edwards, Co-Founder and Managing Partner (Scott@Navaidequity.com)

Scott has more than 25 years of investing, corporate finance, business operations, and M&A experience, completing over 30 transactions with an aggregate value in excess of $3.5 billion. In addition to these transactions Scott has deep experience advising portfolio companies across multiple industries on strategic planning, operations, debt financing, and add-on acquisitions, to strengthen their business.

Before co-founding Navaid, Scott was a Managing Director at Sun Capital Partners, a $13 billion private equity firm, where he completed transactions in the industrial, packaging, food and beverage and other industries, and served as a board member of several portfolio companies. Scott was also head of Sun Capital’s Investor Relations and Communications team where he led the fundraising of over $4.5 billion of capital for the firm.

Prior to Sun Capital, Scott worked as a Principal with Henderson Private Capital in London and as an Associate with GE Equity and Advent International. He received a Bachelor of Science from Georgetown University and a Master of Business Administration from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College where he was designated a Tuck Scholar.
